Introduction to MRCP

Medical Representative is an entry level job in the pharmaceutical industry with tremendous career growth. Promising Bachelor Degree holders like D. Pharmacy, B. Pharmacy, BSc, BBA, B.com, B.A and now medical graduates (MBBS, and DVM) are considered ideal to start professional career in pharmaceutical industry.

“Promise for better tomorrow” is the vision with which MRCP Medical Representative Certification Program is organized. Its purpose is to facilitate fresh graduates who want to start career in Pharma-selling. Programme’s mission is to provide the most valuable intellectual capital, in the form of trained Medical Representatives, to the Pharmaceutical & HealthCare Industry. We have organized Medical Representatives Certification Program (MRCP) for new entrants in the field of medical/pharmaceutical marketing and other personnel already serving in sales and marketing departments of pharmaceutical industries.

This program is especially designed to provide valuable services to the pharmaceutical industry by imparting minimum acceptable entry level knowledge of basic medical sciences, of selling and business communication skills/practices.

Medical representatives sell a variety of pharmaceutical products including medicine, surgical products and diagnostic equipment. Instead of targeting ultimate consumers, they normally target businesses such as Hospitals, Clinics, General Practitioners, Specialists’ clinics, Pharmacies, Medical stores and other health and beauty clinics. They also introduce and sell their products at medical conventions and conferences, where they promote and discuss new product developments. This career involves extensive travelling.

Medical sales representatives may have to be away from home for days or weeks at a time. There is no formal training required for this career, but normally employers desire bachelor degree preferably in Pharmacy or Biology however other bachelor degrees in different disciplines may be accepted. Fresh candidates are welcome in pharmaceutical selling but experienced ones are preferred by the employers.
